What colour would you paint this furniture?

Bought this cheap untreated Argos wardrobe along with matching drawers and bedside tables about 3 years ago, planning to paint them. I'm finally doing it this week, but still can't decide what to do with them.

I bought simple chrome knobs (pictured on the left hand door) - I wanted black ones but the cheapest I could find for the 18 I needed was about £20 - so I lumped for these which were £3 for 10 in Wickes.

I was toying with a greyish shade but it might look weird with the chrome. We rent and the rooms are a stark white colour, so don't really want more white. I'd love a pastel or beige but can't decide on the right one.

Any thoughts (and links to paints - I have B&Q, Homebase or Wilkisons nearby and I will need to buy it tomorrow) would be really appreciated as I'm stuck!

It doesn't need I be top quality as it's not the best furniture to begin with but I need to cheer up this small white room.

I used a nice Dulux colour called Ancient Artefact - in their classic range recently which I liked, they have lots of nice muted colours and are easy to get hold of

Thanks for the suggestions! I am warming towards a sagey/teal green too I think - not only will it look nice against the chrome but most of my bedding has a turquoise element so it should tie in.

I picked out some colours I liked on the B&Q website and three of them are practically identical - but I do still think the wholemeal colour would look lovely too, I can't quite discount it.
