What flooring to go for?

We are moving into this place on Tuesday. Yay!

On the floorplan, the kitchen/reception, entrance hall, bathroom and smallest bedroom all have engineered oak flooring (best view on photos 2 and 3). We plan on having the back bedroom as our sitting room, and the largest bedroom as ours (we don't need three). Those two rooms have horrible grey lino tiles on the floor (I think it was the last bit of the refurb and they ran out of time/money).

We'd quite like to put down a darker wood parquet with rugs in both sitting room and bedroom - but will this look weird with the lighter oak elsewhere in the flat? What would you put in?
