We need to make a decision soon. I really don't know what will be best -
we currently have wooden floorboards that are desperately scratched and too pale, and have been thoroughly christened by potty training toddlers and incontinent puppies. But we are looking at a space of around 50 square metres so if we could rescue the floor it would save £££s.
However, I love dark parquet floors. And I also love pristine white ceramic floor tiles, or modern flag stone style tiles.
What to do? How rescuable is an old wooden floor? How dark can one stain it?And would white painted floorboards be completely barmy?
What kitchen floor did you decide on and why? My budget (if we don't rescue the existing floor) is around £40-50 per square metre. (Excluding fitting.)
Any advice gratefully received!
