I think this might be my dream home

If only I was a natural minimalist. In reality I know I could never keep it looking like that as my DC can fill a room with toys, trading cards, cast-aside homework, loom bands and general plastic tat in only 10 mins flat and I just can't be arsed to be always picking stuff up.

Here Lovely, lovely, lovely (and a little remote).

Ooh me too! And DP is a tidiness freak so it would stay all minimalist and beautiful too. Off to put in an offer!

Blush runs off thread horrified.

I can see why you would like it, but not for me

It is a bit love it or hate it, I agree, Gemma. It's very uncompromising and not terribly cosy, but I quite like big windows and long sight-lines and clean finishes.

I went to see this house today, which is very similar in style but 1970s. I loved it but my head says steer clear as it's incredibly overpriced and hasn't been renovated at all since the late '80s. It needs new windows, there's damp at the top of some of the outside walls, the downstairs smells very musty. Even if it was in tip-top condition that price is a bit optimistic, but as it is I'd be surprised if they get £700k for it. (I did LOVE it though, it bet it was a thing of great beauty when it first built.)

Yep, I could happily live there... ...once I've divorced my hoarding husband and given him custody of the eldest kid.

I find it utterly soulless.

I really like big floor to ceiling windows but don't like that plain square boxy style.

I'm more a nook and cranny type person Grin

Not for me, looks 'cold'. I prefer older houses with a bit of character though.

Utterly horrible. A bland, soulless, character-free box.

But to each their own and all Grin .

What's with the painting of a dining chair rather than actually having chairs? Certainly a cool looking house in every sense.

Yes it doesn't look 'gorgeous' on pic but probably more awesome IRL. However not keeping it junk-free is what I'd really struggle with most. Period houses I think are the most forgiving of clutter.

Gorgeous! Such a house will only work well in nature and with a view, rather than neighbours.

It's a bit dated already so dread to think how it will look in 20 years time.

Love it!

Surprisingly low ber energy rating for such a new looking house. It looks like a car showroom.

oh god that's horrible. Bet you anything it will be falling to pieces in a few years' time too

Enniskerry is not remote! That's a very odd set of property details, some of the photos are real-life ones and some are obviously computer-generated (the ones with only two chairs in the living area). I think this house might work if it was in an area with a better climate than Ireland but given that you will be looking out on rain or drizzle for about 9 months of the year there, it would probably make you want to run screaming from the house after a while!

Looks like a Center Parcs villa!
I do like it though.

Wouldn't be for me... I'm a bit Shock at the price tag. Clearly the Irish property market is recovering! This is good news... bought my Dublin flat in 2004 and have been patiently waiting for the recovery..

I'm sure it was on a grand designs programme.

It might be worth getting a valuation gooseysgirl. Dublin property is definitely moving again. Sale agreed signs are springing up all over the place. There are some concerns that there is acutally too much heat in the market.

I think the remoteness of Enniskerry is probably subjective Unexpected, I grew up not that far away from there and then lived most of my adult life in London. My memories of been a teen are what a pain in the neck it is to get anywhere under your own steam (the 44 bus takes ages to get into town from Enniskerry), and living in London has turned me into a city slicker. When we moved back to Dublin one of my criteria was living near the Luas or Dart.

They're both gorgeous. I did find the second one amusing, though - an utterly cool house furnished courtesy of DHS and Argos!
