My teen and pre-teen have small bedrooms so we're converting the garage into a room for sleepovers and entertaining friends since we never put the car in there.
What would you put in the room? We're thinking of a couple of bean sofas, a rug, a tv-dvd combi and moving the wii into there as well.
What would you put in there?

Make sure there is still an outdoor exit, in case of emergency. add a Fridge with can drinks - fruit bowl - juke box - sound insulation - insulate the floor, UFH , tactile throws and cushions and sensible rugs, vacuum cleaner ( in the hope they might want to look after the place ?) bookshelves and reading lamp. Desks ? Charging station for phones and tablets etc big blackboard or white board so they can write up who's beating who on the play station etc . Maplins electrical used to do intercoms that could be fun to use - they work both ways so you can check up on them with out them knowing ! :-)

If your having sleepovers in there, would you want bean bag sofas or a day bed type thing that they could sleep on too?

Hmm. A day bed is a good idea, it was going to be bean sofas because of the budget and they are fun but I will go for the day bed idea instead, thanks. Loving the idea of a fridge as well, thanks, the blackboard is a great idea too - I'll do one with some blackboard paint.

Please keep these idea coming as I've recently done exactly the same thing for 12 yr old DTs and we're all wondering how best to use it.

They think they want the treadmill, static exercise bike and maybe a table tennis/pool table plus TV/Wii and sofa bed....Bu I don't think it's all going to fit, not anyone going to do any exercise in there!

What else has anyone got in their similar teenage den?

we've converted a double garage but retained a small store area at the back, but we have a sofa bed, opposite that we have a bank of storage units (think wardrobes) and inside that is a 32 inch tv, the wii, board games, lego etc.

Then they have a massive desk that they have laptops on and they do their homework there too.

We have a disco ball thing that rotates and shines coloured lights which ds2 loves but he is only 7! And blackboard area painted on the wall. It is nice for them to have their own space.
