Corner sofas - would you, and where from?

Really really REALLY want a nice fabric corner sofa. Not a huge one that's like a tank, but something similar to this ideally not £2k though...

I can't seem to find nice ones anywhere. I don't want to spend over a grand really. And ideally it'd be from somewhere that does finance so we can pay gradually.

Ours is like that but beige, eight seater corner unit ( was originally DFS but we bought it on ebay as it wouldn't fit in sellers new house)

It is very big and comfy and 'open plan' looking

Watching with interest as we are talking about a corner sofa at the moment - will probably still be talking in 2 years time if it is like anything else in this house Hmm

IKEA have some nice ones.
I wax eyeing them up recently.

DFS massively over price and know people will pay it because of the interest free credit, their sofa's are a similar price to other better quality manufacturers and no where near such good quality. My DFS sofa's were only really presentable for a bout 2 or 3 years before fabric started undoing and some of the sofa structure started failing.
This place nabru gets good reviews and has a lot of choice in a similar style for £300 - £400

Our living room is about 13 x 12 ft, so no 8-seater for us, but about 220cm wide is perfect. I should check eBay too I guess.

The ikea ones are nice but the corner sofas are too big for our room!

feet Nabru has some nice ones, well you can design them yourself, so choose the size etc, but i don't like that they're so close to the ground.

Depends how often you change your sofa. If you plan on keeping it for a while (say, 7-8 years+), Iwouldn't. I think this style of sofa will date terribly.

I've wanted one for a few years now, so while it might date, I think the comfort (me, DH and DD all fitting on it comfortable) will outweigh that. It'd need to last about 7/8+ years yes. Current sofa is from Argos and I've had it for 10 years but anyone who sits on it now just rolls into the middle.... argh.

If you get one make sure the corner has an arm too, so that you can lean against the tail end of the sofa too.

I got one a couple of years ago and it's like there's only two seats on it really. As the other end, the cushion falls off and it's too big to sit on like a normal seat, and if you curl your legs up under you then there's no side arm to lean against.

the ikea ones are different though because each end of the sofa has an arm

My in laws have just gone one from Harveys which is really nice. Each seat can be taken out which is really handy. It's dark grey and has electric recliners, I think they paid £1800 for it.

Ours is beautiful and huge and from dwell. It was the only one I liked and looked everywhere! They have huge sale at the moment as going into administration I think!

Make sure you know what you want! I nearly fell into the trap of a chaise corner settee but realised I actually wanted a corner settee with a chaise. This gives you an extra sideways seat. I can't link at the moment but there's a nice looking John Lewis one on Ebay at the moment with a BIN price of £500. Might be worth a look if it's in your area.

In terms of looks I think all corner sofas look awful. However, we bought one for a temporary home because it maximised the seating area for the space. We bought it from Harveys. Very similar in style and price to this one . Comfort really great - whole family stretches out on it in front of tv. After 4 years it is looking a bit tired and the cushions at the back are all a bit saggy - definitely past its prime - but still just as comfortable. However, although we have moved and have recovered other more expensive furniture from storage it is still the favoured family sofa and I think it's going to stay until it falls apart. Despite its looks, we all love it!

We have the fabric one from Laura Ashley and it is very nice. We got it when there was 50% off so was £975 which I think was a Billy bargain.

We have this from M&S in dark brown leather. It is plain and contemporary; no ruching or pouffy cushions, and I think it looks great. It still looks brand new after nearly 2 years.

we have a nabru one, liked that we could have it the size we,wanted. stands up well to a toddler!! comfy too and the storage under the seat is a nice bonus.

We have a lovely one bought from a local company. It can also be broken up and used as a long chaise, 2-3 sweater with one arm rest, and 4 sweater with arms on two ends. I love the nabru stuff.

We have a nabru sofa in the kitchen. Its comfy but we've only had it 8mo so I'm not sure if it's going to be as good in a decade. They literally arrive on a pallet. It took us less than 2 hrs to build.
we're getting another one for the front room when we decorate.

We almost bought one but then shoved two sofas we already had together in an "L" shape, bought an ottoman to fill the empty corner, and saved ourselves £1200 in the process. The end result is very similar.

Can you just do that?

I recently got rid of my corner sofa. Ime the corner seat is waste as its a bit of a pain to sit in and people lying on it tend to leave the corner empty.

I have gone back to two sofas snd s chair it works much better for us.

Hello

We've got this one from Tesco in our kitchen. It gets a lot of abuse, and is used everyday. I was really hesitant about getting such a cheap one but preferred the style to any of those more expensive. I've thrown all the cushion covers in the washing machine 100s of times and it sill looks brand new.

Poppy - don't have space for 2 sofas so it'll either be 3-seater and an ottoman or a corner sofa. At the mo if DH and I watch telly we're scrunched up together so I'd like a corner sofa so we can spread out a bit.

Washable covers would be great - thanks for link to tesco one!

Our sofa was from sofa workshop - v good quality - 13 years old and stone linen and still going strong! (even with two kids! Scotch guard worth the extra...)

Think its important to remember you can't move your furniture around with a corner suite and think about a possible house move in the future too!

Dancing lady it isn't supposed to be washable but I do wash it. I know ikea do a washable one but my DH didn't like it as much.
