Paint for stairs. Anyone used f&b floor paint

I painted our dark wooden stairs a few months ago using primer, undercoat and what felt like a million coats of dulux satinwood.

The problem is after only a few months the paint has chipped off and now looks terrible.
Anyone have any other suggestions what else I can use to paint them? Anyone tried the f&b floor paint, is it hard wearing?
Thanks

The Farrow and Ball floor paint was awful and I'm normally a massive F&B fan. Really not worth the money. We had to strip it off and I think we painted them instead with paint called something like diamond hard floor paint. I'll see if we still have the tin when I get home.

Exterior paint is always more hardwaring than inside paint.

Or painter told us to have a runner up middle and paint at the edges. He said unless you can totally guarantee stockinged feet are the only thing to go up and down them they won't last. Got to think about bashing them with Hoover, kids dragging things upstairs etc he reckoned!

I would also second a runner if you don't want it to look bashed about after a bit.
You can get stick on bits of carpet if you don't want a runner like this:

stair pad

I think they can look ok... Would prefer a runner personally

Someone told me that Little Greene floor paint is the best

I painted my stairs in F&B Wimborne white 16 months ago. It hasn't yellowed and still looks good. Admittedly we rarely wear shoes in the house so this may have contributed but otherwise no complaints here.
