We used Ken-Yee Lam at Rubinstein Phillps Lewis LLP. The Website is www.ruphlaw.co.uk
She is very sensible, efficient and effective at dealing with clients when it comes to the stresses and complications that arise with buying or selling a property.
I have no affiliation with the company but am confident in making the recommendation.
Good luck!

I'm going to hi-jack your thread, sorry.
Any recommendations for conveyancers in the North East? From experience I prefer to be able to go in an sort out last minute disasters Grin but don't want to use the guys we used last time.

I've been using simply conveyancing and so far has seemed ok. She always takes my calls, even if they are first screened by an assistant.

Wright and Wright in Guildford. Julian Sampson is ace.

Ooop north I'd go Goldsmith Williams. You don't have to go to the office and they are also ace.

Movingahead.co.uk We've used them twice. Leanne got my last house purchased in 5 weeks from offer to completion. Answers e-mails within the day and no voicemail, always answers the phone. Very reasonably priced as well.

I can recommend Simpson Millar. It doesn't matter where you are in the country as almost everything happens via email or over the phone.

I have quotes ranging from £1000 - £2500 - obviously I want to go for the cheaper quotes but will I be making a mistake?

Make sure that they are quoting on the same thing.
Some shysters will reel you in with a cheap quotation and then, halfway through, suddenly hit you with all sorts of add-ons and disbursements that somehowHmm never got mentioned at the initial stages.

If you send an email to Simpson Millar they'll give you a quote with all the costs broken down. They'll also list out other costs you'll need to pay (e.g. stamp duty) so there are no surprises. They should be one of the cheaper quotes, if not the cheapest, and you are unlikely to regret using them.

£2500 seems really really high. I am going to PM you.

Hi I'm looking for a conveyance also for a sale and purchase in Surrey. The sale is a divorce situation so includes splitting funds according to a court order. But not in a complicated way.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I just did an online quote on two of the sites listed in this thread and one was double the other.

Hi everyone, any advice about finding a solicitor for north Oxfordshire?

I recently used Emily Frank of Setfords, she was brilliant. She was really quick and very friendly, she always answered the phone (and gave me her mobile number) and came to see us on a Saturday to fit around us and our one week old baby! The whole thing could have been very stressful but thankfully Emily made sure everything happened just as we'd hoped. I would definitely recommend her.
