What colour to paint a NE facing kitchen diner?

I'm looking for paint colour ideas as I am beyond useless at choosing! Kitchen units are cream, fireplace mantle is cream, fireplace itself is black, wood floor and wood work tops. The kitchen diner opens onto a large garden. I want the room to feel light and airy, but at the same time welcoming and comfortable, somewhere that really feels the hub of the home. My DH does not want cream/magnolia or white walls. Can any one offer some suggestions please?

I think a light cream is genuinely your best bet, but you could try a sagey green colour like F&B cooking apple green. I wouldn't go with one of the pale greys as I think it could look too cold, and grey can clash with cream.

Hi we have a north east facing kitchen diner. We have recently painted it Wild Primrose from Dulux. It has made it a much warmer, lighter room. We originally had cream and found it to be quite cold and dark surprisingly.

Thank you both of you I like the idea of a green, and I love the wild primrose (although sadly DH doesn't).
