new rug and cushions for £150?

I need to give out living room a lift and I would like a rug adn some new cushions.
I only have £150 though, can I get anything nice for this... everything is so expensive now :(

Any ideas? Not sure if this is right place to post this?

Have you tried Ikea? You can order some of their stuff online if you don't have a store nearby.

I got a really nice rug in Argos clearance last year. It was reduced from over £100 to £24.99.

Asda direct have some nice rugs and cushions online.

I got a flatweave rug in ikea for £20 last week - grey with green, blue and red stripes. There were several others on sale there as well. You can get coordinating cushions for not too much.

TK maxx have some great rugs in. I bought one for £60 yesterday which is like a Madeline Weinrib (always advertised in posh mags and £600+. Not so keen on their cushions but H and M/ikea as previous posters said cannot be beaten on price. If you have a sewing machine could you make the cushions? Then you can embellish with ribbon trim or buttons to match your rug. It is all sewing in straight lines and pressing with an iron. Loads of online tutorials.

The one I got from ikea was this one but in a larger size - maybe 200 x 240

Incidently I've just bought two of these and taped them together to make a big rug. The colours would go with what you describe, though I may consider something lighter if your carpet is brown.
