Alternatives to Carpetright - Epsom/Guildford area.

I was going to order our new carpets from Carpetright but having seen some recent posts slating their service I'm quite keen to keep away now!

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced carpet shops in the Epsom or Guildford area?

Epsom has the Ashley Flooring Company, (92a, High Street), run by Jason Evans. Don't be put off by the tucked away premises (it's behind the shops), I looked in there the other week, and Jason was very helpful, and knowledgeable.
Independents seem to be better for carpets than places like Carpetright (and there is a Carpetright very close by), but no idea whether you would find the prices acceptable, I was only browsing, so didn't go too deeply into cost.

We're in Epsom but ended up getting our carpets from John Lewis! Great range of choice and the service/fitting was good too.

We used a company based in Epsom called Carpets 4 U, they bring the samples to you. Really good if your busy and saves any arguments over matching colours. Really friendly too, can highly recommend.

We used Milners in Ashtead, but they were rubbish, sorry! Ordered the wrong colour, took ages to get hold of the stock, fitted the stair carpet so badly they had to come back twice.

So we went back to Carpetright, and they were fine.
