Has anyone any experience of ScaleGuard electronic water conditioner? I live in a hard water area and am about to install a new CH system and new bathroom and would love to have a water softner but at around the £1k mark this is out of the question.

I've just had my latest bill through from Thames Water and inside there was a leaflet advertising ScaleGuard at a special price of £96. It all sounds pretty perfect, almost too good to be true really. Just wondered whether any wise MNers have one installed and would recommend or not.

Scaleguard

TIA

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

It "works" by magnetising the water

It is just as effective as a copper bracelet is at curing rheumatism, or a potato tied round the neck in an old sock at warding off the ague.

The people who sell these things have been compelled to agree to refund anyone who notices they don't work.

Save up for a water softener.

There is a chap in Ingatestone in the business who sometimes sells used softeners he has reconditioned, I am very pleased with one I bought.

Thanks Piglet. I was hoping you'd be along with an answer. Confirms once again that things that appear too good to be true often are!! I'll steer clear then.
