What tiles have/would you put in a very small windowless bathroom?

Trying to find/decide on bathroom tiles! Currently planning to tile only around the bath and the floor as think tiling the whole room might work out too expensive. Its a small bathroom without a window so thinking of a light colour, but don't really want white!! I'm drawn towards having a lightish grey...or maybe a light neutral mosajc effect tile to sort of have a feature/make it look more interesting. But finding it hard to find tiles i'm 100% happy with that aren't too expensive! Then will need decide on a paint! Aagh its doing my head in!
Show me what you've done please?!

Large rectangular white tiles up to sink level, lightish blue paint. No border as I think they look naff. On floor blue with white specks rough tiles. Does have window but very small. As my plumber said you want to avoid the public toilet look!

I'm thinking about the toilets I've been in in restaurants that are always dark and windowless, and they often go in for mirror/metallic tiles as it reflects the light around more..

I suppose it might be a bit of a shock to wander into the downstairs toilet of a nice normal house and find yourself in a nightclub bathroom though, so perhaps best to ignore me..

Choose your floor first. Much easier to then choose wall. We have a titchy, windowless en-suite. I went for big (60x20) beige on the walls and brown on the floor so it feels warm.

I wanted pale tiles on my bathroom floor, builder pointed out they would show my moulting black hair, so went for cream on the walls (marble effect) and their reverse and grey grouting on the walls
floor. much better! Also have grey and black towels so the fluff blends in...

Also - bigger tiles, less grouting to clean

Ive got cream Laura Ashley tiles with border that has silver design on it. White marble floor tiles with grey in them. Wouldn't recommend the floor tiles they show up so much dirt.

Anchovies, thanks for that! I've been inspired! Think im going to do similar byt with rectangle metro tiles....next question is...flat or bevelled?! Lol! Will do it with grey grout.
As for floor, i know i should probably go for a smoothy shiny block tile to make the room feel bigger...but i do like the idea of a hexagon mosaic (cheapish version) ...or maybe white with a black border?...little black squares in the middle or something... That victorian look. Anyone got something like that cheaply?! Pray tell! :-D

Thin black border around the bath somewhere or just the metro tiles? Oo im getting excited!! Got to find everything first though!

ChippinginlovesAutumn: Sure isnt easy! I've been driving myself mad! So indecisive!

Thanks all for your comments & suggestions!!
