Beautiful vinyl flooring and long handles for kitchen cupboards

Have taken our house off the market today as nothing is shifting round our way. So in order to cheer myself up/be able to stay without being glum need to spruce our tired kitchen up. Dh will not let me make any radical changes as we will be putting it back on at some stage and says we won't recover the cost. So, superficial changes only. Love the splash back idea on the other revamping kitchen thread so pinching that one - thanks.

Any ideas for vinyl (or nice but cheap stone tiles) as our temporary laminate is now going to need changing. Same too for some nice kitchen door handles to trip my brian into thinking I have a new kitchen!

I've just used Gerflor tiles in our utiity room - we used the Caractere Distinctive in Vanilla. Easy to lay, look more expensive than they are and so far they clean up a treat.

Fast delivery, and they'll send out samples quickly too. HTH

How about //www.knobsandknockers.co.uk for the door handles?

thanks both fresh is the vanilla difficult to keep clean? I have seen some flooring I like on the Harvey Maria and the Colour Flooring site but worried that 1) will be nightmare to clean and 2) it will date quickly (though not such a big worry as we hope to sell some time in next 18 months!

tbh what a great site - struggling to sift through to find any that match the existing handle size to cover the original holes.

Keep them coming ladies and gents (if PigletJohn is reading) -this is going to be a turbulent labour of love and hate whilst I try and fall in love with my kitchen again (when what i really want to do is move or change the layout/knock some walls down etc!)

Karndean flooring, is lovely but it isn't cheap.

I bought some vinyl for my rental house, got a roll end and that is amazing! It cost £90 and was enought for the kitchen and bathroom. I got wood effect and although still is no where near as good as karndean, looks fab. Its nice and thick, ridged in the wood grains, and all of the estate agents asked what it was and were shocked when I said it was vinyl.

Its worth having a look at the roll ends to see what you can get. Had I bought that at full price it would have been an expensive vinyl.

Have you looked on ebay for some kitchen handles? You might get some expensive/unusual ones at an affordable price. I'm getting quite into searching out second hand accessories like this. You can get a unique look for bog standard B&Q prices. It takes time but if you are so inclined when you get a bargain its great!
