Anyone sewed two sets of readymade curtains together?

Do you think it would work out ok?

The window in my kids bedroom is 3m x 1.2m (ish) and so is too wide for your average ready-made curtains.

It was suggested that we could buy two sets and sew them toegther to make one set.

Is this a stupid idea? Anyone done it before and how did it look?

why dont you buy extra wide curtains?

If you google Bay window curtains there are a number of online retailers

Elmet curtains do an upto 152 inch width.

My mother has two pairs of curtains not sewn together up at the same window. It looks fine. You can't tell when they are open or closed, you only know when you are closing them.

Sewing them together will be fine.

also do extra wide childrens curtains.
They are in china so about a 3 week wait on delivery and you might be liable for a small bit of import tax.
I have used them for curtains and they are much better quality than you would get for that price in the uk

I bought 2 pairs of John Lewis Value curtains for my 5 metre wide window. I haven't bothered to sew them together ( I don't sew (lazy cow) or have a machine) and they look fine. They are eyelet style - just a bit fiddly to get them perfect when you close them.
