any one bought from made.com?

I like the look of a lot of the sofas on made.com. Good prices but I looked up reviews online and they were really mixed.
Lots of people had problems with delivery or the delivery of damaged goods and had problems rectifing it. But others were very happy.

Anyone have any personal experiance?

Hello, this thread is a little old and some of the links may be out of date. There was lots of discussion around Made.com with some users loving them and others having issues with delivery times and quality. As alternatives, users recommended Sofa.com and Sofas & Stuff. If you are still interested in Made.com you can check them out here. MNHQ

I have bought quite a lot of things from made.com in the last few months (though not a sofa) and only have good things to say so far...delivery has all gone fine and the quality of the furniture is excellent. Plus the prices are great, and it's nice to have some furniture not from Ikea.... The only downside is having to wait so long for some of the things to be made once you order, but I guess that's how they keep their prices so competitive. Would definitely recommend.

That's good to know and yes nice to see furniture that isn't from ikea.. I'm an ikea girl, mainly because of cost but I don't wish to live in an ikea show home!!
thanks

Great site and the furniture is stylish, reasonable etc.

Would recommend absolutely.

We bought a few things from them to 'test' their quality (their giant beanbag and a giant anglepoise lamp) and they were great. However, I also know others who have had problems. I think it's one of those companies where if things go well and you get your stuff, great. If not, they make it very difficult for you to get your money or goods returned...

angel1976 I came to the same conclusion after reading online reviews. Make it really difficult to decide whether or not to make a big purchase from them!

We toyed with the idea of buying one of their sofas but I think in the end, we just thought we couldn't risk it with such a big purchase... In the end, we found a sofa we liked with a big retailer and went to see it before we ordered it. The problem with buying a sofa without seeing it is that sometimes it can look/feel very different depending on the room it will be in and also it's hard to imagine the height of it and whether you will be comfortable in it!

I bought items from //www.furnitureroad.co.uk they are working similar to made.com but they have higher quality of items. Also the warranty and customer service is much better than made.com you should give it a try

Don't waste your time and money with this company. No customer service, no recourse, can't rely on delivery times at all. I was Duped!

I've used them three times (bin, light, desk). All the products have been great but 2/3 took ages to arrive (many weeks more than the time suggested online). The desk came next day though (with no warning).

I have the Redford Sofa: www.made.com/sofas-and-armchairs/redford-3-seater-sofa-manta-grey-and-contrast-buttons

It's now a year old and looks like new. Very comfy. We have the armchair too which is big enough for me to curl up in.

I ordered a lamp from them leaving plenty of extra leadtime because it was for a present, but it took weeks longer and missed my deadline by ages. I kept it though as a Christmas gift instead and it went down well.

I bought the Orson 3-seater in grey 2 years ago and we are already having to replace it. First they sent one that was in such poor shape (broken frame, filthy including with mysterious white marks in several places) that I couldn't believe it could have had even the most cursory visual check before dispatch. After a really hard time getting through to customer services (no phone number you can ring) they sent another one that looked better and was in a protective fabric wrapper unlike the first, which made me think they'd first tried to fob me off with one they had hanging around especially as the first one came within 2 weeks, not the 10-12 week lead time. Unfortunately the new one is very poor quality (as attested by a furniture repairer I got round recently to see if its life could be prolonged), unable to withstand the most basic wear and tear. The front part almost touches the floor if anyone sits on the middle of the sofa as the frame (plywood, not solid wood) is very weak. The plywood battens that go from front to back have also got so bent I thought they had broken. The whole sofa rocks if anyone tries to get up off it. And it is not comfy to sit on as it feels so unstable. And this was in a household where we usually only had 1 by no means heavy person on it at a time - it wasn't as if we had kids jumping on it.

I also have kitchen bins from made and they are fine. So for a smaller item I'd consider them. But never again for a large item like a sofa.

Shocking, shocking shocking service and product.

After long consideration i a bought a sofa from made.com. While the pre-delivery service was acceptable when the sofa arrived it was all faulty with a severe creaking noise when you seat on it. I called them and the Lady answered the phone initially was quite ok and gave me normal customer advise. however it was more of a Lie than customer advise. They arranged for a technician to look at the sofa and that took three weeks.

The technician came and assessed as following
Action Description - The service technician has viewed the furniture, and cannot find any signs of misuse. He has examined the effected item to find movement of the back section of the sofa. The technician has carried out an internal inspection to find issues with the framework.

Two weeks after i had no contact from made.com. i called them up and asked whats going on. I was told to simply buy another sofa, submit a refund request for the faulty one and they will come and collect it which leaves me three months without a sofa. So in effect i just become another customer and buy a new order instead of them just replacing the faulty one. However the painful part is that the lady i spoke to in the first instance told me that i could keep this sofa until they replace it which leaves me frustrated as they seem to make the rules on the go. Its all about boxing the customer into a corner so they just accept the faulty sofa and forget about it.

i know some people in here have reviewed positive but i paid 1000 pounds for my sofa. If i bought something low value i perhaps wouldn't mind too.

Dont buy from these cowboys.

So you create a profile and then reanimate a zombie thread just to complain?

I as said above in June last year my sofa is lovely.
I find it interesting that my sofa still looks like new whereas my friend who bought hers from a high street retailer at the same time has had to replace it already.

Oh, and my sofa made a bit of a noise initially but after a few days it stopped.

Yes I know this is a zombie thread but to balance it out a little, I thought I would add my positive experience. I bought the Garston loveseat in pink, it arrived early and seems very well made. Maybe I've been lucky.

Bought an office chair, nice looking and comfortable but 18 months in, the seat has worn badly and they were dismissive about it, saying it looked like normal wear and tear. Would not go back. HTH.

We bought a sofa and an armchair from there. The items were much better value than anything else we could find but I think they try it on - our armchair legs had clearly been taken from a returned item; the castors were worn and there were multiple scratches and dents in the wood. They sorted it out in the end, but hugely disappointing. I think it's a pot luck situation - you might be lucky and it's great value.

We bought a sofa from Made a few months ago and I absolutely love it! Looks good, wearing well so far, very very comfortable, great price, ready quicker than promised and delivery was fine. Online chat were super helpful confirming some measurements we needed before ordering. I'll definitely buy from them again.
