What are your favourite really dark paint colours?

Am planning to create a cosy den feel in our North facing front room, which will be mainly used as a TV room at night.

So far I've looked at F&B London Clay (nice), Brinjal (too dark) and have bought a tester of F Earth Dragons Blood.

Any suggestions for a really lovely colour?

Would prefer plum/brown rather than rich red or blue etc but open to suggestions.

TIA

I've got Brinjal in the dining room and love it. What about a dark grey? (check out Abigal Ahern's website - it looks dramatic and cosy, not cold.)

HOw does Brinjal look in the day kitsmummy? IS it cosy at night? Bit worried it woudl be too cave-like but I havent tried a tester of it so perhaps I will give it a try.

I have seen the Abigail Ahern look and I'm after something a bit richer, we have lots of dark grey elsewhere and fancied something different.

How about : www.houseandhome.ie/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Fab-8.jpg sage green

Or - further down the page - citrine? It was recently recommended to us for our north-facing kitchen. www.houseandhome.ie/comment/788

I have just purchased, but not yet applied, Crown New York. It's an inky blue grey. It's to go in a tv room which is mostly used at night too. We have white storage in there and a duck egg sofa. The hope is that the dark walls will make the furniture pop.

Thanks, jamais I like your first link and the Crown colour looks good too from a google search.
I am having white ceiling and woodwork so a blue-green grey could work well.
WIll have to get soem more testers (Dragons blood too full on for me).
