Hi

I would appreciate your advice on my flooring. I am replacing the wooden floor in my flat. I want parquet in the lounge and hall but planks in the bedrooms as it is cheaper.

As the hall is very long, I thought this chevron design would look great.

In the lounge, a variant on the herringbone design.

In the 3 bedrooms, planks.

All the rooms would have the same colour of wood. Is it naff to have 3 different floors? Should I just stick to chevron in lounge and hall?

TIA

would stick to same in lounge and hall and plain in bedrooms if you must but would advise same allway through.

I'd probably stick with either chevron or herringbone for lounge and hall. if they are different it might look like one is original and one is a later replacement iyswim.

I agree about planks in the bedrooms though.

Is it a period property?

Thank you both for your advice.

Minipie - yes it is a period property. Will stick to chevron as it comes in planks and so will be easier and cheaper to install.
