Where to get large plastic stackable boxes at best price? thanks!

I'm looking for quite a number (20-30) of good plastic storage boxes, not too flimsy, and importantly those that close tight, and for best possible price.
Also advise please, whether they are damp proof (i.e. the items stored inside them, even fabric items, books) if kept in outbuilding.

I saw some really sturdy and solid ones specially for outdoor storage at Staples today. I thought they were good value, introductory half price so £10 per box. I think it was this one?

LaG - thanks, the prices aer very good did you try them though? to they close tight?
angel thank you, though I was thinking of lighter, see-through ones (or semi-) and not as large, it's too expensive if buying 20+.

Have you tried Poundstretcher?

Really Useful boxes do close tight and last for ever. Honestly far better than pound shop boxes. They come in loads of sizes. We have a few we use for camping and I've seen market traders and outdoor events people packing up into them. I would say money well spent if what you are storing has any value.

Really useful boxes are pricy, but they are strong.
If going for cheap ones steer clear of pretty coloured translucent ones, all but my very oldest ones are brittle and the handles crack.

If by fabric you mean a serious quilting stash, you will know it's seriously heavy.

If it's one-off storage (like for a house move) you could gaffer tape the lids shut?

thank your for all replies! RUB do sound best so far, as some items are of some value and i need to keep them dry - and keep them smelling fresh not damp! This is not for house move but for storage in garage. The garage is not damp but still not that dry due to no heating. I especially need to store books, ceramics. I'd like to put some bags/shoes there but I think for these there is a risk of getting 'unfresh' - any advice on this, re shoes in boxes, several boxes per plastic box?
From picture RUBs look like they dont have flat lids - do they stack?
Do they deliver in all areas?
I saw boxes in Muji but I think they aer more expensive and thin walls.

startail, I mean to store some fabric items, curtains, but now I'm thinking any box wd be too small.

we like RUB but also use some silica gel sachets in the boxes in our loft.

maybe that will help?

Maybe try to sorce those silicon packets you get in new suitcases?

do they really help? and where to get them?
I though if the lids are tight enough it may be enough to keep things dry.

with eg curtains, could you put them in giant bags (like removal companies use) and then the tightness of lid not so important?
ikea have some very huge boxes not too dear, but you'd need to check each for how lids are - some click closed and some just sort of sit on.

I don't know how tight they are. I don't think they would be as airtight as a food container. The ones we have a work definitely stack (60L). Do you know anyone with a business who could order them for you and get a discount on the price? Ahh just found this on their website:

LaG - thank you for so much info! so staples stock really useful boxes AND their own, would you say RUB are better even though more expensive than their own? Is the list of uses for RUBs as well, and is there more size choices on RUB own site?
wellies - is that a company name?
franchises do you think curtains would stay fresh in garage even if wrapped?

It would make a bit worried, whatever they were stored in.
Why not ask on mydecozo - forum with lots of curtain experts and maybe some of them know about storage?
They'll know the risks to fabric - damp, moths, etc...
You might have to cherrypick a few items for special treatment!

thanks Ponders, crystal ones aerebest price, though possibly thinner than RUBs, maybe will try both. Curtains are not the main item I'm storing, but yes, prob best to ask curtain company how best to store. Much more books/papers though to store. And some shoes - don't want to clutter wardrobe/bedroom too much in a new place.

I second (third, fourth) the RUB's.
another good point for them is that they are stackable, even if you buy diffrent sizes. spare parts (lids) are easy to get and if you need more boxes in future you can be (nearly) sure that they will stack with your old lot.
