How to make pine look like oak??

What can I put on pine skirtings and facings to help them match in with my new oak doors and floors?
Don't want them to be White as they get dirty quickly. Is there some sort of stain/varnish that will help them blend in?

Try a trade shop.

they will never look like oak, but you can stain and varnish them to a similar colour. There are a vast range of wood dyes made by Colron (and much smaller own-brand ranges). For best results colour the wood with a dye, then apply a clear satin varnish (if you use a tinted varnish or stain the colour will vary with thickness and number of coats, and touching-up will stand out).

Try samples on a bit of scrap wood before you do the real job.

Most retailers have sample boards by the display, but the final colour will depend on the wood you apply it to. Pine darkens and yellows with age. A paint specialist is more likely to have the full Colron range than a DIY or hardware shop.
