Best midnight blue paint?

Just bought a cream metal bed and I think it would look amazing against a deep blue wall. I keep hearing that more pigment means a better colour but I'm a bit clueless. Anyone found the perfect midnight blue?

Oh and while you're here, what colour should the other walls be? Bedding is white with sort of Indian embroidery.

TIA [smiie]

Dulux have a good colour called Sapphire Springs (the darkest variation) that we used in DS room, negotiated it down from black. It's a rich blue but not navy. Covered perfectly in two coats. Other walls are a pale green ATM but we have a tin of Wedgewood blue waiting to do them when we get a chance.

I did my study in Martian Skys 1 by Dulux, it was fab.

I used Ballgown ...Crown, I think, flat matt finish is a beautiful dark blue.

Ooh I knew someone would have ideas! Thanks, will check those out. Good to know you've had good results with paints that aren't super-expensive!

F&B Hague Blue is stunning...

Another vote for Martian Skies although I can't remember which depth it was. We have it in one room and it looks AMAZING. Had so many compliments on it.

I'd say proceed with caution in a very dark room though.

Hmm, the room itself isn't too dark but the ceiling is relatively low. Going for cosy and a bit eclectic I think! Getting rid of the artex has really helped!

Have looked at their website and think it's Martian Skies 3 we've got, maybe 4. It is a lovely inky blue. Had it for nine years and I never tire of it. Break it up maybe with a mirror and some paler pictures?

I have just been through the rigmarole of finding a dark midnight blue to paint a wall and furniture. Hague Blue is too "royal" Little Greene's thai sapphire is purple.. I could go on.. I've been through dozens. F&B Bible Black is pretty good but you have to order it as it's an old colour. I've settled on a RAL 5003 in ultra deep from a Dulux decorator centre and I love it.

Sounds like a palaver - thanks for saving me the trouble! What colour are the other walls?
