Going to IKEA this morning to look at & possibly buy this Trofast Storage for the kids playroom. Has anyone got any of the Trofast products. What is the quality like? Any good? Thanks :)

We've got a Trofast storage one, very good! We use it for DD's toys! They are sorted in there and she can take a box out a time to play with!

We have 3!!! 2 x the 'stepped' ones and one tall one (so they make an 'inverted' V though for some odd reason, the tall cupboard is not as deep as the stepped ones and the boxes slide in the other way). Excellent. Though they don't look the most stylish, they make it really easy to tidy up and the kids don't have to ask for your help in getting them out of the slots. A million times better than drawers I reckon. Also, the 'stepped' ones are very, very sturdy.

We have lots. Although now you can't buy online -they seem to be pushing the Stova instead and there's various threads on here querying whether Trofast will be discontinued soon.

I have 2 stepped ones - great things and use the steps for books and boxes..

Thanks everyone. It is such a pain that you can not not order the Trofast online (you can't with the Stuva either) as I don't live that close to IKEA (about an hour away). I do like the stepped ones & now you have confused me in which to get, but at least I can make a decision once I get there!! Many thanks ladies :)

I had a spreadsheet detailing what size boxes my boys' toys will require and drew out a plan of how I want to 'arrange' the storage. Blush Yes, I think that is sad... I was considering the expedit as I think they look way nicer but not big enough storage and I don't fancy my boys pulling those boxes out by themselves!

We have 3 units, each with a shallow, medium and deep box in them. They are excellent, despite me hating IKEA. The one thing I would recommend.

We have and expidit in the playroom with droma (?) inserts. Way cheaper than the trofast an 3 times the storage!

We have a couple and as well as the boxes you can also get shelves - these are good for older kids as my DD has one shelf for all her magazines as they didnt fit in a box without curling. Need to get some more so will have to pay a visit to see the new ranges!

we have one stepped one and one high. they are great. good quality and sturdy. we have the solid wood ones, so don't know how good the veneered ones are. we have quite a few extra boxes which we use as laundry baskets.

We have trofast with total of 4 deep and 4 shallow drawers, they are great as dd can tidy away things herself and there's the painting drawer, the dressing up drawer etc. They might get moved to her bedroom tho rather than staying in the living room, and just bring a few things down at a time to avoid mammoth tidying up sessions needed!

We also have lots of the expedit ones, agree with bridgeandbow that they look much nicer and they hold alot more. We get the fabric boxes as they are great for the dcs to pull out on their own.

We have a stepped and a tall unit for DD. I find the boxes are OK for small bits and pieces / dressing up / pends & paper etc but even with the big deep boxes you can only get 2/3 boxed games in them!

I do have a trofast too! I have it in the dining room and it is perfect for craft stuff. I have the rectangle unit with3 small along the top and 3 big in the bottom. Great for plydoh, pens, paper etc.

I find even the expedit canvas boxes only hold 3 or 4 games - we use them open for games and puzzles - doubt I could get 2 in the trofast large boxes!

I have 4 trofast units, 3 in the playroom and another one in our shed! I like the different sized tubs for pens and paper, paints, cars and lego. It stores toys in the shed, balls, bats etc

I have had them about 7 years and love them. All our board games are in a double Ikea Pax wardrobe, also in the playroom.

Cannot praise trofast enough. If things leak you can just wash the tub out, or give it a hoover every now and again to get rid of the dust.

I went to IKEA last Sunday & bought the Trofast storage system & got red & white tubs. I also got a Trofast wall unit & blue & white tubs with lids...but when I got home, to my horror, I discovered I'd got the wood one instead of the white one - so I will have to traipse back at the weekend to exchange it. Great! I did see the Expedit but didn't realise you could get boxes for it.

I have stuck wall stickers on my trofast drawers and they look great! Means you can personalise them a bit/ make them match a room.
