who fancies decorating my bedroom?

or at least helping me choose the look we're going for!

we're moving from small room (white walls) to a bigger room. Our current furniture includes a dark brown chest of drawers, two matching bedside cabinets and a huge bed (bed is a divan with a velvety mid brown base and cream) velvety headboard).

in our new room we'll need wardrobes and this is my first dilemma. if we go for wardrobes that match our drawers, it'll make the room too dark. but if they don't match, it'll look odd, no?

next dilemma is what we should put on the walls. i quite fancy wallpaper. something with a silvery background and big plum flowers. possibly not on all the walls, just one? or is a feature wall naff now?

we also need a new carpet but that'll depend on the walls so i'm not worried about that just yet!

any help much appreciated!

I think a feature wall would be lovely with those colours. These guys do really nice wallpapers for a feature wall...
www.grahambrown.com/uk/index
And what about doing something interesting with the wardrobes (if your neat) and getting cutwork doors made. Sounds expemsive but actually it's not bad. I just did mine with a company called Jali www.jali.co.uk/
Or if you're on a tight budget Ikea do nice systems with glass doors and you can line the doors with the same wallpaper as your feature wall...
Hope that helps or at least gives you some inspiration.
Good luck!

No problem. Happy to help. I decorated and furnished my entire house online. Only one disaster, my gorgeous giant bed arrived and didn't fit in my attic bedroon. Had to get the carpenter to saw the legs off Grin.

i've just shown it to him again and he likes it now Grin
apparently he was surprised because it was a 'grown up' choice! erm yeah we are grown ups now!
he was actually really sweet because i was saying "because our furniture's dark we need pale walls" and he replied with "oh yes, that's what i was thinking"
and then i mentioned that coloured curtains would be good. he said, hmm, pink would be good and i replied with 'i was thinking plum would be nice' And his reply 'oh yes, that's what i was thinking' The rest of the conversation followed the same pattern so it looks like i've got a free reign Grin
