Fitted bedroom furniture - reusable?

My parents currently live in our house as the family is abroad. We're coming back next month and mum and dad will probably look for a new house. I had their room fitted with some lovely sharps furniture but it won't suit a kid's room which is what we will change it to when we get back. Question is, can the fitted furniture be taken out and reused elswhere? I know that's not the point of fitted furniture but wondered if it can be done by a joiner/carpenter? It's basically a run of wardrobes about 3m wide.

Could you leave them where they are but change the doors? Wardrobes are useful too for children: clothes, toys, books etc. As long as it is not all hanging space...
