lounge has taupe walls, brown leather sofas, oak coloured flooring and tv unit etc...

Dont want lime green or turquoise and verring towards purple.

Think need to start with curtains, any suggestions?

Oh our current colour scheme in living room is the same, it needs livening up. Was thinking teal, but might change my mind. Got to do something otherwise I'll go crazy with the boring brown-neutralness of it all and go mad with brightly coloured paint, which I'll no doubt regret. Unfortunately I'm on a very tight budget for any improvements.

Will be watching this thread with interest...

Raspberry pink?

Teal?

Red?

Purple would be good too.

I know it gets scoffed at, but look in the Next catalogue for ideas for curtains/accessories etc that tone well, and see what takes your fancy. You have a blank canvas with your neutrals, so can change it when you get bored.

Definitely in this colour scheme I would be thinking about orange or lime green. Both contrast very nicely with oak and dark brown. But I see you don't like lime green so think about orange!

Sounds like you have just described my living room! We have gone with purple, and it goes really well (if I do say so myself Grin)

The curtains were the tricky bit, and 3 pairs later we decided on the ones which had purple in them. When I bought them dh said he really did not like them, didn't want purple and they wouldn't look right etc. within 5 mins of them being up he had to take it all back Grin
