Tile Paint/Lining paper

We are about to have our whole house redecorated and we are going to have the walls lined to hide hairline cracks - do we line the kitchen or will it peel off with the heat from cooking etc?

also i want to replace the tiles in the kitchen but OH wants to use tile paint instead - has anyone had any experience with tile paint? is it any good or is it worth just replacing them?

Thanks All!

Tile paint on our kitchen tiles lasted just over a year before it began to peel and chip. Looked bloody awful. It's a very short term fix, we found. And that was with v careful surface preparation too. We recently had it retiled and it looks soooo much better. I spend so much of my life in the kitchen, it was worth spending the extra on it.

I agree with the last poster. Are the tiles all over or just between the wall and kicteh units? They might be tricky to get off because of the angle but you could be surprised. Why don't you just tile over them If they are well fixed

I've never had a problems with lining paper peeling off. If your kitchen wall are getting that hot /wet there is something wrong with your coking methods and certainly with the ventilationGrin

the tiles are under the units and at the back of the cooker which makes me think that tile paint won't cut it! big argument with OH today about it but think i might have persuaded him to replace with lovely white tiles instead!
