Sorry for ther double post but I am panicking!!!!

We are having walls knocked down today to make a kitchen diner and the builder/electrician needs to know tomorrow what type of lighting we want, eek!

I really can't decide between spot lights or:
lighting over the kitchen end, something like this:

this

and then pendant lights like these over the breakfast bar, but then what to put over the dining table at the other end?

Worried something like in my link is it a bit blah to go over the dinign table but owrried spotlights will look too industrial.

WWYD?

I prefer pendants to spotlights

(have had both)

Spotlight bulbs seem to last 5 mins and are very expensive to keep re buying

in a rush so not seen link btw

Would it be wierd to have different lighting in the kitchen to the dining room?

I will watch this thread with interest - I'm having the exact same thing done over the next few weeks. And out kitchen done at same time (cream Shaker with oak worktops and breakfast bar but going for more modern feel than traditional feel to the kitchen, hopefully!)

Here are the ones I've been looking at but am still in headless chicken mode at the moment!

Over breakfast bar:

Main part of kitchen (and have a few under counter spots)

Over dining room table:

Or something more funky...undecided (and will probably be too scared!)

Quite like this in the main kitchen but think it would be impractical and not give sufficient direct light.

BUgs I LOVE the one in your first link- the oceans one- that will look stunning over a breakfast bar. I love how the kitchen spot lights and dining room lights will really tie in together too.
