Any inventive ideas for making this boring but necessary filing cabinet look more interesting?

I think I'm going to have to buy the following cabinet //www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10134848
it's the only one that will really house everything DH and I need for our home office. Thing is we already have a lot of black & white/cream in our home and I don't want the place to feel too cold/clinical - any ideas for decorating it? (Other than just blue-tacking photos to the front, which feels a bit studenty).

thanks all

I feel your pain- I am currently agonising over whether to buy this which is clinical int he extreme but asnecessary to hide all our bulging and unnecessary files.

I think if its part of a home office anyway its going to look absolutely fine. Its not like you are plonking it in your lounge or anyhting. Definitely no photos on the front, just a nice one in a frame on the top of it.

goodness, yes - that's v heavy duty (we could probably do with one of those too!)

OK, no photos, but maybe some of those wall stickers? Or would that be a bit naff too? Photo on the top sounds good, plus maybe a plant? Mind you, who am I kidding, there'll be 6 box files on top of it before I even find a frame

Try posting in the craft section - I'm sure you'd get loads of good ideas. You can get some really interesting wall sticker now (I think they call them decal?) so it needn't be naff. Or you could paint something.

oooh, like the painting idea, though my skills don't really lie in that area Blush

Will try the craft section too - thanks
