Bargain: 24 packs of baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage!

(43 Posts)

Just found this ebay listing this morning. It says 24 packs of 80 baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage! shock The expiry date on the wipes was a few months ago, but we're not eating them! Just thought it was too good to be true - but for 2.99, it's worth risking it, right?!

thanks iv just brought sum aswell

just bought some too but seller has put them up to £3.99, still a bargain though grin

bigchris Tue 17-Nov-09 17:36:51

is the seller the op?

Squishabelle Tue 17-Nov-09 17:55:56

Just ordered some but it said 24 packs for £3.99 not £2.99.

suitejudyblue Tue 17-Nov-09 18:12:20

Its funny that the price was just changed once this thread got going.
There's loads of neg feedback but I suppose you can't go wrong with wipes

qwertyshell Tue 17-Nov-09 18:16:45

i got mine for 2.99 but when i went back for another pack they had gone up to 3.99.

CuppaTeaJanice Tue 17-Nov-09 19:45:23

I've got an email saying mine have been sent already, with dhl 24hr. I'd have thought the delivery costs would be more than £2.99, so I don't know how they are making any money!

Feedback seemed ok, suitejudyblue - 99.4% or something. That's quite high for a volume seller.

I'll let you all know what they are like when they arrive!

NewPinkPup Tue 17-Nov-09 19:52:09

Also had an email saying they've been sent. If they're any good, I'll be going back for some more, even if they have gone up by a pound grin

Squishabelle Tue 17-Nov-09 22:12:09

Worth a shot even for £3.99. I use wipes for dusting so these should be ok for that!

No, bigchris, I'm not the seller! hmm

Was only passing on a bargain tip to other mums!

The same seller had other listings for wipes, some were 5.99 and some were 9.99 - I couldn't really work out what it was saying, as it seemed the one I posted to earlier for 2.99 said it was one box of 24 packs. And the 5.99 seemed to say it was 2 boxes, and the 9.99 was 4 boxes - but I was still only seeing a total count of 24 packs. So since I wasn't sure what they were, but the one I bought from earlier said it was 24 packs, I just stuck that one up.

The same seller has "Babylegs" (leg warmers) for only 3.99 with free postage, and various size 1 and 2 Cotton Tots (shaped cloth nappies) for 1.99 and 2.99 each - again free postage. As well as Bamboo bath towels (from Tots Bots) for only 2.99.

Not really sure how they do it, especially the wipes at that price, as surely DHL costs more than that - esp to send to me, who's up in the Highlands of Scotland! So a bit of a mystery. I'm guessing maybe they are selling overstocks for some major baby website, or shops? Dunno really - just a guess!

FoJo Tue 17-Nov-09 23:05:58

have ordered some as well. DC's are now 8 & 11 but wipes still handy for all sorts, especially cleaning.
thanks

I think only 40 boxes had been bought when I purchased mine this morning, and auction listing now says 87, so guess they thought they could raise the price by a pounds and people would still buy!

trace2 Wed 18-Nov-09 09:05:23

now 4.99

bit cheeky of them to keep raising the price! I hadn't bought anything from them before, so was unaware of how they do things.

Squishabelle Wed 18-Nov-09 10:50:58

Cheap as they are, I hope that no one else buys any in protest at this cynical raising of the price.

Lionstar Wed 18-Nov-09 10:54:14

"cynical raising of price" shock

HELLO, they are a business not a charity. Supply and demand and all that. Still cheap as chips at 4.99, or 10.99 if it came to that!!

JoeyBettany Wed 18-Nov-09 11:11:03

i've just bought some at £4.99. What a bargain!

CuppaTeaJanice Wed 18-Nov-09 17:55:09

Now they are £5.99!

Glad I saw this thread early!!

Me too, ordered some at 3.99 now they are 6.99 the weight of them would cost more than that? Even if they are a little bit dried out (they say out of date) I don't mind using 3 or 4 insted of 1 or 2 for that price!!!

CuppaTeaJanice Wed 18-Nov-09 18:23:18

If anyone wants a lot they are still doing 2 boxes (48 packs) for £9.99 and 4 boxes ( 96 packs) for £15.99 - free post.

Just click on the sellers shop to find them.

FoJo Thu 19-Nov-09 11:51:08

anyone got theirs yet? I have to say I'm feeling quite chuffed at getting them for £3.99 - could be heading for a fall when i see what arrives!

Mine arrived whilst I was at midwife earlier, they are fine!! Nice and moist even if they are out of date, they don't smell (I know they say f/f but some still have a sort of smell) and now thinking about ordering some more whilst they are still cheap. Bargain!!!
