Hotpoint plastic paddles - New washing machine advice

Hi,

After have to replace 10 plastic paddles after a 1yr period I've decided its about time to give up on my hotpoint. We've had it 6 years, is it normal to have to ditch a washing machine after that time?

Anyway can anyone suggest a good washing machine WITHOUT plastic paddles.
