I bought a Vax on Sunday, it is a green one, under £100 and realy gives the carpet a good clean.

Vacuum I think!
I have a Dyson Stowaway and it's fab.
Great suction, loads of extra attachments including a wooden floor attach. which really helps. Easy to empty etc and quite compact.

I think the Dyson stowaway might be out of budget...£250+ isn't it?

Ah yes..I think 'Vacume' is 'empty space'..
My mum has had her Henry for ages; think they're around £100.
She has 3 dogs so pretty good on pet-hair

Henry! They're £99 (or a bit less if you shop around on the internet) and very well made and reliable. The best hoover I've ever had

Henry is not bagless, but the bags are cheap and don't need changing very often
