They have lifetime guarantee - get theit number ring them and they will send you a whole new lid!

That is why they are so expensive - they are worth it!

Twinkie1 Mon 12-May-08 17:06:39

Honest - I use mine as a plastics recycling bin and it is really old and on its third lid!

Ours broke about a year ago now, I emailed them, they sent us a new lid no problems.

If it is just the catch, they might just send a new catch, we got a spare one when we bought the bin.

RustyBear Mon 12-May-08 17:09:02

Is it one like this?
Because ours came with a spare catch. I gave mine to my SIL, but you might have put yours away somewhere - if not they are probably available from Brabantia.

Oh my God, do they really have a lifetime guarantee? Mine has been broken for about 2 years! Who do I phone??????

Twinkie1 Mon 12-May-08 17:09:59

Google brabantia and ring their customer care number - they are the best with customer service - someone M&P could learn from!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain Mon 12-May-08 17:11:38

I think it is a 10 year guarantee, but when we emailed they didn't even ask how old it was.

PortAndLemon Mon 12-May-08 17:11:39

Do you not need to have registered or anything? Our catch is broken too and I've just been living with it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain Mon 12-May-08 17:12:33

We're not registered.

I got a new catch from ebay. Put it in and found the same problem as before -- the bin would sometimes stick shut. It turned out the catch was being pushed out sometimes by the action of closing the lid - sticking it in with a dab of superglue fixed the problem.

I believe their cs is fab. Mums bin broke recently, she had no receipt and it was only months old. They replaced it without any issues.

Got to say, Brabantia are EXCELLENT at cs. No questions (apart from "what type/colour bin is it?") and we are now getting a new lid (the hinge/spring thing broke after six years). I'd buy again with confidence – definitely worth the money.

Another vote for brilliant Customer Service at Brabantia. I would recommend them to anyone. They are expensive, granted, but worth the money.
