FEEDBACK THREAD for Joggler testers

(666 Posts)
GeraldineMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 29-May-09 12:12:29

Hi, hope your Jogglers have arrived safely. Once you've had the chance to get them set up and had a play, please can you post your feedback to these questions from O2:

1. Did you find it easy to set up?

2. What worked best for you?

3. Would you recommend it to a friend?

4. Do you think it's good value for money

5. Would you like to see any additions?

6. How would you use it to organise your family life?

7. Anything else you'd like to add?

And the latest on the webchats is that they'll now take place between 1-2pm (not 7pm) on Weds 10 June and Weds 1 July on www.mum-e.co.uk, but as usual if you can't make it on the day you can leave your questions/feedback in advance and the Joggler team will answer them/respond between 1-2pm.

We'll post the urls of the chats as soon as we have them.

Happy Joggling,

MNHQ

1. Did you find it easy to set up?
No, because I discovered my router has only 1 ethernet port and I don't have wireless. blush

This thread is adding insult to injury

Mine isn't here yet, but I have wireless all set up and raring to go!! Can't wait to get it!! grin

It is here, and it looks very impressive.

I would love to stay in and play with it, but the cleaner is coming and I promised DS I would take him out with his metal detector.

Will have a play later.

MerlinsBeard Fri 29-May-09 12:48:32

1. Did you find it easy to set up?

Yes yes yes grin
Amazingly easy, am very impressed, even my tiny mind can cope!

OK I could not resist a little play.

Easy peasy to set up, but in my haste to set it up I miss read the question about how many bits, it kept saying it should be 26 characters long. rang the helpdesk they were so helpful.

It is now installing software.

Now I really must go out, but I want to stay and play. sad

I am not a worthy tester, but do have a joggler, so hope it's OK to post here.

5. a) It would be nice to be able to set an event as applying to one person, but reminding another. i.e. When DD has a hospital appt, that doesn't involve DH, if I want to remind him of it, I have to set the event as applying to him, too. Not a huge deal, but kind of mucks up the colour coding feature.

b) You can't reschedule an event ATM. You can change the people it applies to, change the time, the event details etc. But if you want to change the date it occurs on, you have to delete the event and re-enter it.

c) It would be nice to be able to have a quick way of starting an event at half-past the hour. Most events start either on the hour or at half-past. It is annoying to have to scroll down so far to set it.

d) It would be good to be able to rename the calendar

e) On the web calendar, it would be nice to be able to reorder your calendar guests.

6. It already takes the place of our other systems. DH longer has to make a task list to remind him to phone & check how DD's appointments at the hospital have gone, etc.

I am having problems linking mine to wireless so am on hold to o2 customer services! Been very helpful so far!!

KingCanuteIAm Fri 29-May-09 14:28:53

I thought about your A lou, so I set it up with an "inform" person as well as the usual family members (i suppose you could have an inform mum and an inform dad) then I will add the inform person to any events that are not to do with me but I need to be informed of IYSWIM. That way, when I click on me it only shows mine and not the ones that I am going to be informed of...

I agree it is a glitch though.

lou031205 Fri 29-May-09 14:46:41

Good solution, as long as you have enough 'slots'.

schneebly Fri 29-May-09 15:59:09

so far (been playing with it all afternoon) blush...

1. Did you find it easy to set up?
Yes but I am quite technically competent with ICT and gadgets.

2. What worked best for you?
I like the media player and the calendar.

3. Would you recommend it to a friend?
Yes.

4. Do you think it's good value for money
it has a good set of functions and looks stylish.

5. Would you like to see any additions?
Looking forward to the messaging and radio functions but would also like more specific weather locations and perhaps more games.

6. How would you use it to organise your family life?
I will use the calendar function religiously to recieve text reminders and I will also use weather function and traffic to help plan days out etc.

7. Anything else you'd like to add?
It is shiny :-) I love it. I really like the format of the news headlines and weather and I think it is easy to navigate.

1. Did you find it easy to set up?
Yes it was once I realised I was trying to put in the wrong WEP number (eye test is now booked and put in calender blush)

2. What worked best for you?
At the moment it all seems to be working well for me! Am going to put some photo's on it shortly

3. Would you recommend it to a friend?
Yes I think I would!

4. Do you think it's good value for money
Yes I do especially as there are no extra costs involved

5. Would you like to see any additions?
Being able to put a name to the calender entries by text so that I won't have to go back in and amend it!

6. How would you use it to organise your family life?
I will be putting everything that we are doing and when and try and get dh to change over to o2 so that I can get text remiders to him for ds's medication and also so he in't constantly asking what my movements for the week are!! I like the fact I can text entries for the calender too as I am always forgetting to take my diary out with me so it will be useful to enter things via text

7. Anything else you'd like to add?
I would like to say that the 2 people I spoke to at o2 customer services are fab especially the 2nd one who told me that it is easy to mistake a 0 for an 8 blushblush blush

whoops Fri 29-May-09 16:29:51

I agree with Bloss for the to do list and maybe shopping list and for it to be texted! I'm forever going out and asking dh to text me what we need while I'm at work but he always forgets too

Bloss, you can't reschedule them on the joggler direct though.

The inform thing is this,

If dd has a party and you want a reminder you have to put the party as being for DD and you.

Then, if you want to see what you have on the party will come up in your list - even though you are not going to the party, just being reminded about it.

So, I put an "Inform" person with my mobile numbers in so that I can put dds party in with the reminder going to the inform person (my mobile). Then, when I check Me I only get my stuff and, if I want to see what things I am going to be reminded of I can click on the "Inform" tab and it just shows the things I am going to get texts for.

Does that make any sense? grin
