Teacher's retirement present

I have just heard that DD's last year teacher, whom we both loved, is going to retire next week. She is being "forced out" against her will and I don't think there is going to be any kind of noise made about it at the school.

DD and I would like to give her a nice present. What do teachers like to receive upon their retirement?

I think I want to get her something personal and that will last, rather than tokens - we got her tokens last year as the collective class end-of-year gift.

Jewellery is actually a very good idea for this particular teacher - thanks! And DD will love choosing it!
