How old is the child in question. If it helps, dd has been a child in Oman, Thailand and now Switzerland. In all those countries she wore tops and shorts or dresses *EXACTLY the same as those from M+S or Tesco. Dpes the child have to go in as a sort of caracature, ie stripy top, beret and onions for a french person.

my girls are both 5 but there are different classes.... there hasn't been any guidance on whether it has to be caricature type costume or what but i'm presuming it must mean that as otherwise they would just be the same as we dress here mostly wouldn't they??! bizarre!!

IIWY, i think I would probably get them a football top each, I don't live in the UK but assume that supermarkets will have a lot of cheap ones in. Our local supermarket is selling them with all the different countries on offer. A top and a pair of shorts and bobs your knob.

H&M has a wide range of dirt cheap national football tops for the World Cup.

Heidi/German child:

Wide skirt, blouse and long socks, pigtails and straw hat.

Not that they dress like that here.
