How long would you expect school trainers to last a reception child?

They are worn twice a week and the velcro has broken after 6 months

Worth taking back or not?

you can try and take them back but not mention how long you have had them and see if they will exchange but i think if you mention 6 mths you would have a hard job convincing them they have hardly been worn in that time

I have taken shoes back when the velcro has failed and got my money back. If the rest of the shoe looks fine then I wouldn't hesitate in taking them back.

They'd know how long I'd had them as I would need the receipt

He doesn't wear them apart from school PE so I reckon they've had less than 40 wears

I won't buy that brand again for sure

contact the makers directly and explain sometimes they will send voucher to replace or tell you to take to store to replace always worth a try

Are they a brand as such?

Ive has a problem with Clarks velvco and bcos the shoes were older than 6 months I had no receipt and dealt directly with the head office I got a 50% refund,if you go directly to the shop with the receipt they will exchange (ive had 3 pairs of shoes replaced there).

If they are nike you can return them to the shop too ive also returned them to head office when ive had no receipt and was sent back 2 pairs of trainers to replace the ones id sent.

I dont think if youve paid more than £20 that the shoe should be failing in velcro-get them took back!!!

I would expect them to last till next size was needed. I put ours away for ds 2 precisely because they don't get much wear.
