DSs teacher was letting the kids out, they are reception so they stand behind their chairs and wait to be called as the teacher sees the parents, when one of the mums starts shouting her DD.

I mean proper shouting at her angrily to come out, the teacher said 'I haven't called her name yet and shes been taught to wait until I do so before she leaves'

The mum went off on one at the teacher saying she hasn't got time to stand about whilst she calls 30 kids name.

The teacher politly explained that that was the only way to amke sure the 5 year old were leaving safely with their parents or guardians and the mum screamed the kids name who looked terrified and ran out with the mother still angrily ranting her head off down the pavement.

Everyone looked like this

I can't believe how rude she was!

Poor child

Some parents really do act as if they are doing the school a favour by sending their children there.

Dis there is another thread with a poster moaning her kid is always late out of the classroom so she is late for her gymnastics class. Seemed too much of a coincidence....

It used to knark me when dd1 was in reception and they were let out in order of the first letter of their surname. Dd1's being 'S' . We had 20 mins to walk to dancing, get her dressed and get her in the class, fitting in a snack somewhere on the way. Plus they were always about 5 mins late out of the classroom as it was.

However I managed to refrain from shouting.

Blimey - bet the shouting mother would have been the first to complain if they were just let out into the playground to mooch around...
Take the teacher (and assistants) a packet of biscuits for her breaktime coffee because she's probably really shaken up by a loon ranting in her face...

My child's headteacher phones parents if he's not happy with their behaviour. Good for him. Another headteacher I know of has parents in to talk to them and will happily say 'madam, your child is a disgrace, sort them out'. I think I'm in awe.

WE have a mum like that in our playground, she ranted and raved at parents evening and left before seeing the teacher and every day without fail she sticks her face right up in the door window every few minutes until they come out

I really hate when parents are disrespectful to school staff,

As Pixieonaleaf says its normally their children who won't do as they are told in school.
