Very quick question for my course - year group are 6 year old students in?

I'm not sure what your question is, exactly.

Most private schools number their year groups the same was as state schools, so 5-6 is Year 1 and 6-7 is Year 2 in England and Wales. Different in Scotland.

no idea of private but dd is 6 and in yr 2..some of the other 6yr olds are in a 1/2 class...yr 1-2..HTH

In private school you can call classes what you want but they often use the state school terms. People turning 6 are found in Y1 but there will also be some in Y2. e.g. my Summer-born son won't turn 6 until he has finished Y1 but most of his friends will turn 6 during Y1.

dd2 is 6 and in year 2 (private).

Most private schools only start wierd numbering from 11years, although some at 7.
