How many NQTs?

I would like some advice please. My son is in yr 1 and his brother is due to start reception in September. There has been a shake up of teachers and a few have left, most of the remaining ones have been given a different year group. My concern is that nearly all the vacancies in the last couple of years have been filled with NQTs and most years (2 classes each year) include an NQT.
I realise everyone has to start somewhere, but does there come a point when there are not enough experienced teachers in a school? Is there a limit to the number of NQTs a school should have at any one time?

Not officially, as far as I know. And they are cheaper! Presumably they were the ones who shone in the interview process, so they must have been chosen for other reasons, too.

They have to have a more experienced member of staff as a mentor, and that can take time, and they also have to have more PPA time. But they will hopefully be like a breath of fresh air to the school - someone described me like that when I was an NQT a looooooongg time ago!

Feenie is right - it is a cost issue.
