Am waiting in for the postman this morning, as hopefully the admissions letters will be arriving today. I just want to know if all's ok or if we've got a fight on our hands. ANyone else in the same boat? Fingers crossed x

Westbury on Trym - In the middle of all the hideously oversubscribed schools!

We're halfway between Elmlea and Westbury on Trym - either would be fine, but there's a chance we won't get either because of being oversubscribed with children nearer than us, or if it's like last year, a huge proportion of places going to siblings of existing pupils.

I applied online, so thought we should have heard via email by now. Kept checking messages all day on Fri, waste of time!

Post can be delivered anytime up till 3pm ish here so will just have to wait and see...

Post arrived - we got our first choice, so I'm very happy and relieved. Apparently the council have only posted half of the letters though so others may have a longer wait. I'm sure they'll blame the snow Riven! Fingers crossed for anyone still waiting.

Off to regrow nails......

Flo23 - I don't think they email you even if you applied online. We did it online and only got a letter. Where are you hoping for?

Will stop obsessively checking emails then..We're just on Bristol/South Glos border so have applied to both. Am hoping for SG place, have to wait another few weeks to find out from them.

I'd be happy if we got the 1 Bristol school we applied for but happier still if we got one of the others! Not sure what I'll do if we dont get either choice..

No idea why - council incompetence. They've only had the info since October..... I'm sure you've got a good chance by applying to both councils. I know a couple of people that take their children out to SG from here, so if you're nearer you should be in a better position...It's all such a hassle!

Stringerbell - apparently they only post them 2nd class too, so if it was still on somebody's desk yesterday you may still have a few days to wait. Fingers crossed for you too.

Hi Stringerbell - my friend has a theory that only those who have got their first choice have found out already. This seems to be the case with everyone I've spoken to. If this is right, then at least the others who will want to go on the waiting list won't have found out ahead of you, so you should all be in the same boat. Not great consolation I know - sorry...

Hi, I am in Knowle and everyone round here found out on Monday (both good and bad news); but everyone I know in North Bristol is still waiting for some reason! I am pretty sure the waiting list goes on proximity rather than who got their letter in first?

Stringerbell - did they not offer you anything at all? They are required to provide you with a place within 2 miles of your house - although that could be anywhere...... I think the waiting lists do go on proximity rather than speed of reply. Good luck.
