have also posted in the children's books section, but hoped I might get a few responses here as well.
dd1 is coming home from school with comments like 'God created the world in 7 days, Mummy.' When I counter it with things like 'Well, that's what some people believe' or try to talk simply about evolution etc. she simply responds with 'but Mrs XXXX said he did!'
we would like to find some books or other materials that will present alternative stories, either from other world religions or that are a bit varied from the standard Christian view - she is very definite that God is male, so any books about Mother God/ Mother Earth out there as well?
does that make sense? she has just started Yr 1
