Uxbridge Primary Schools; Hermitage or John Locke

I like both of these schools so far; so really I suppose I'm looking for some stories from other parents about how and why it suits their child. Am looking for a school that puts emphasis on project/cross curricular based learning rather than bums on seats rote learning even for literacy/numeracy stats. Looking for a Reception 2017 September start but perhaps a January nursery intake and would love LO to go tongue school that he ends up at Reception in (even though I know this is not determined). Thanks in advance! X

Hard to say about either of these schools, because John Locke only goes up to Y2 currently, and Hermitage has got a new HT and totally new staff, so past performance of it is no indicator of current performance. Also its demographics has changed significantly since it expanded to become a 2 form entry, so from that point of view also past performance is no indicator of current.

But, having said all that, my gut feeling would be John Locke. Much better grounds, lovely buildings, and I think a new school is always enthusiastic. Hermitage's history puts me off - the previous HT was not good and the school was in a bad place.
