Ds(4) started primary school in September. He's been going to nursery 4 days a week since he was 1, and he's very confident, makes friends very easily etc.
This week I've had a note in his homework diary on two occasions, to say that another child accidentally banged into him but it's all sorted.
DS however was upset about it and said the same boy slapped him on the face 3 times . I've asked the teacher to keep an eye on the situation, and she's spoken to DS to find out who the boy is etc.
This is so new to me, DS is my only child and I don't know how to reassure him. I've told him that he needs to tell the teacher straight away, and not to retaliate at all (I really don't think he would, he's a very gentle child). But are there any tips that I could give to him? I feel as though I don't want to tell him to stay away from this child, because I don't want him to feel as though he has to be on his guard IYSWIM!
