Faith school won't tell me how places were allocated last year

You can find out if you contact the Local Council. I did this and asked the criteria and distance for the last child admitted on all the schools I was considering and they gave me the information.

DEpending on the council you may also be able to find the stats on the council's website for all school.

In our area the LA don't publish the distance for faith schools. They say you have to ask the schools.

FOI request presumably will get you the info if they aren't willing but think it's 20 days wait to get the info.

As above you ask the local authority as they coordinate admissions for schools in the area. It may well be that they don't know.

I asked our local authority this question about a nearby faith school, they advised that the school would tell me directly (or I could do a FOI request if they were not forthcoming with the info!).

They can withhold it. The FOI Act allows for wriggle room. There are exemptions. Also, the FOI applies to public institutions. Is this faith school a private school?
