I know I should've posted it in Mumsnetlocal, but the latest post is dated 2015...

Really want to hear your opinions on schools, housing, etc.

I intend to move into Woodford but am really unfamiliar with the surroudings. Which area is nicer? Woodford or South Woodford? I've seen a lot of posts about living in South Woodford and sending children to Churchfields which seems lovely. There is another school called Wells Primary but it is in Woodford, very close to Bancroft's. Has anyone heard anything about this school?

Thanks so much in advance!

I live in Redbridge But not familiar with the school you mention. We are at one of the prep schools in Buckhurst Hill. From my point of view South Woodford is a nicer area.

I used to live in Woodford for years. I much prefer Woodford as it's green and villagey. South Woodford has shops (you most likely would drive to South Woodford for shopping unless you like shopping in Budgens or do it online) but doesn't feel as nice in my opinion. Buckhurst hill is also much nicer than SW. There are nice preps nearby in Woodford - Woodford Prep, Avon House, you have Bancroft's and County High School for girls all nearby which also offer summer camps. You're close to Epping Forest and I used to go there for a run - much better than anywhere else in London, in my opinion. Highams Park is also close. Wells school is OK, I've been to see it. Lots of good church schools.

Hi
Looking for some advice.we are thinking of putting my son year 4 into Avon house.
I need advice from any Avon house mums re pick up drop offs and or childminders who can do that.
I can take him to school 3 mornings and pick him up 2 afternoons.
Is there any mum who would like to share pick up/ drop off. I work long hrs others days. He'd go straight home as grandma would be at home???
