Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about the local schools in Wilmslow, we are planning to move to the area. The only schools that have spaces are Deans oak Primary and Wilmslow grange primary school. If anyone has children at these schools or knows of these school, advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Can't tell you much about the schools but i can say that school places around the area are difficult to come by especially at infant level. So it might be sensible to go for places in the schools that have places rather than trying to get in on appeal. Some other schools do have a few spaces in individual year groups but it is very much suck it and see time.
The other thing you ought to be aware of is that the local secondary school. Wilmslow High, despite being the largest secondary school in cheshire east is full. Each year the number of pupils not getting a place at the school who go to schools that are partner primary schools is increasing. So when you are thinking about which primary school you probably also need to keep an eye on how far away the secondary school is. The next nearest secondary schools are a considerable distance away.

Wilmslow Grange is oversubscribed for September reception intake this year. Children and staff are very proud of the school and are a great part of the community. The PTA is great and are very active and really make a positive difference to the school.

All schools in Wilmslow are at least good. Do you have chance to go and visit the schools? A school that one person will find very attractive does not suit some others. It is important to get the right school for you child/children. Which ever school you choose at least you know it has been graded a good school.

I know people who work at both - if those are your only two choices then I would go for the Grange.

They are both a distance from each other, depends where you will be living if distance is a factor for the school run?
