Badly worded title, but I'm sure you get the gist. Tomorrow I'd d-day with primary school selection, I'm just wondering what time of day you got the email telling you which primary school you were given.

Lucky you Solsbury. Not sure I'm going to manage until midnight. DP will probably be up. So I may get home to look

There's a long thread about 'nervously awaiting' on which people have posted expected times for a number of LAs www.mumsnet.com/Talk/primary/2609073-Is-there-a-nervously-awaiting-primary-admissions-thread

For the pan-London system (all boroughs and Surrey) the allocations go live on the website from 5 pm so you can log in and find out that way. They start sending emails at about the same time, but they have to go out in batches (or the sheer number would cause crashes) so you could receive yours pretty much any time that evening - it can take some hours.

Thanks squirm. I'll check it out

I'm in Kent and they said the emails would be sent after 4pm and I got mine last year at 4.30. It totally depends on which area you are in

2 years ago I got the email at 6am but I already knew the result as I logged in to my application just after midnight a and it showed there.

1am last year.... Nervously waiting now and will be refreshing the page from midnight. Good luck.

I was awaiting one 4+ (Infant) and one 7+ (Junior) email last year. Got the Junior email around 9am... then had a three hour wait for the Infant email during which time I freaked out about how I would manage if they ended up in different places! I am glad I didn't wait up, as I'd have been sat up for nothing.

Hope you get what you're hoping for OP.

My email came by 7am last year, but you could log onto the admissions Eportal system from midnight. It varies by county though, with pan London admissions not releasing offers until close of business.

Good luck.

Here they just say "late afternoon". Last time it was 3pm.

Have you checked your local website for info? Or do they just specify the date?

In 2014 I got the email at 19.31. I think I might have logged in a couple of hours before then and known though? Can't remember. I'm waiting again for DC2 tomorrow, hopefully same school! I'm in Surrey.

My email came through at 9am this morning. First choice allocation. But we're in a rural county and pretty much everyone gets first choice. BUT the school where I teach had 68 applications for 60 places.

London doesn't get notified till this evening, apparently.

I'm fairly sure that with DC1 we were told it would be evening and then had an email earlier in the day, though, so I am now panicking irrationally that I have somehow screwed up the application for DC2 (who should be guaranteed a place on both sibling and distance grounds) and that's why I haven't heard before the time notified. This whole process really messes with your sanity!
