can I let DS use Minecraft for a project

DS has been given a school project. He has to create a model, leaflet or game on their topic and then present it (using PowerPoint) to the class.

He wants to build it in Minecraft.

Half of me thinks, 'nice try Sunshine' but the other half of me thinks this is perfectly acceptable.

As an aside, he's not allowed on Minecraft during the week.

I think we'll give it a go.

I just need to find out how he'll demonstrate it in class.

Ds2 built a mosque in minecraft for a secondary school project. Received a commendation for it (he made a video of him walking through it explaining all the components).

Would be perfectly acceptable here. Good initiative too.

I'm a teacher, and I'd have no issues with this. Lots of the kids (boys and girls) in my class are obsessed with Minecraft, and if it means they are engaged and focussed, then go for it.
