I could do with some positive news about the school my DS is in. He's in year 4. I heard that the results this year were the best the school has ever had, last years were the worst. When are the new league tables published?

Looking at when the 2014 ones were published, it seems you may have 3-4 months to wait.

Oh, thanks T&T, wonder why it takes them so long to publish...

Because review outcomes aren't returned to schools until the beginning of September, results can't be published until all reviews have been completed ( and there will be a LOT of reviews this year!)

11.3 Reviews of marking
Schools can apply for a review of marking if they believe there is evidence that a mark scheme has not been applied correctly or a clerical error has occurred. The deadline for applications is Friday 17 July.

You will be informed of the outcome of review applications by Friday 4 September. You will receive your reviewed hard copy test scripts during the week commencing 31 August. Test scripts marked on screen will be available on Friday 4 September.

Thís year all papers were marked electronically and the paper copies weren't returned to school meaning teachers had to go through all the tests on line to check for errors before requesting reviews.

That sounds like a lot of work for teachers to do in a short space of time!
