Hello, my husband and I are a couple of French professionals leaving in London. Our DD is 17 months and we put her on waiting lists for both French and English schools a couple of months after she was born.
We are leaning more and more towards English schools now as I want her to be fully bilingual and benefit from learning another culture. We only spe French at home.
I went to visit St Marys in Hampstead and really liked the school. Although the school seems to get very good results at the 11+ and is quoted in the good schools guide I am struggling to come across any parents'reviews online.
I would very much like to hear your thoughts regarding the school (both positive and negative). Many thanks in advance!

Is this the one on Fitzjohn's Avenue, on the left as you go up the hill with the red and white striped uniform? If so the word on the street is that the 11+ results are all tutor driven. No personal experience.

Yes that's the right school indeed!
I didn't know about the tutoring aspect...not good.
Have you heard anything else by any chance?

Many 11+ results are tutor-driven, I wouldn't take "word on the street" from a stranger on the internet who doesn't personally know the school as a reason to avoid it.

Fully accept that I don't know the school personally. I know someone who took her daughter out at the end of reception as she wasn't happy and didn't feel that they would prepare her for the 11+ from having spoken to parents higher up the school.
